2026 Legislative Session
The session begins on February 17, 2026, at Noon.
2026 Committee Deadlines
- Friday, March 27 at 5 p.m.: Committees must act favorably on bills in the house of origin and committees must act favorably on bills, or companions of bills, that met the first deadline in the other body.
- Friday, April 17 at 5 p.m.: Committees must act favorably on major appropriation and finance bills.
Per House Rule 2.03, the deadlines do not apply to the House Capital Investment Division; the House Taxes, Ways and Means, or Rules and Legislative Administration committees; nor the Senate Capital Investment, Finance, Taxes or Rules and Administration committees.
2026 Recess Dates
The legislature will recess for the observance of Easter, Eid, and Passover during the 2026 regular session. Both the Senate and House will remain open but no committee meetings or floor sessions will take place during these times.

- Begins on: March 27 at 5:00 p.m.
- Legislative activities resume on: April 7 at 8:00 a.m..
