Throughout the year, MGRC hosts a number of events! These events include a Welcome Back Reception shortly after the start of session, weekly Lobbyist 101 training series and a partnership with the High School Page program, networking events, a Continuing Legal Education course after Session concludes, and an annual meeting. Toys for Tots and Teens:
As part of our annual meeting, we are partnering with Toys for Tots and Teens for their toy drive.  Tara Mack, MGRG member, is coordinating this effort and is requesting that we focus on teens.  If you would like to donate a gift for a teen boy or girl please bring a gift or donation to the Dec 2nd meeting.  Each gift should cost between $20-$25. 

For more information on gift ideas and how else to donate if you cannot make the meeting:

  • You can Venmo Tara Erickson a donation (suggested amount of $20 to $25) and in the message says “Toys for Teen” donation. Tara will use that money to buy gifts and bring them to the distribution center.  @Tara-Erickson-7

  • Go on Amazon and buy a gift and have it delivered to Tara’s house:

Nominations:

Per MGRC bylaws, a Nominating Committee was appointed by the President, with approval from the Executive Committee, to report its recommendations for board member election to the full membership.

The 2019 MGRC Nominating Committee recommends the following for election to the MGRC Board of Directors:

- Daniel Lightfoot, League of Minnesota Cities (new board member, 1st term)
- Abbey Bryduck, MN Asphalt Pavement Assc. (new board member, 1st term)
- Bobby Patrick, Medical Alley Association (new board member, 1st term)
- Kate Blair, Marathon Petroleum (new board member, 1st term)

The 2019 MGRC Nominating Committee also recommends the following board members for re-election:

- Thor Underdahl, ALLETE/Minnesota Power (2nd term)
- Amanda Duerr, Charter Communications (2nd term)

Please note: These nominations are subject to election by the membership at our annual meeting. Nothing in our bylaws preclude any member from being nominated from the floor at the annual meeting.
 
New board members will serve a three-year term and be eligible to serve one additional term.
