Annual Events

Throughout the year, MGRC hosts several events, including the following:

Annual Meeting

Join us for our Annual Meeting—an afternoon of connection, insight, and community. The event kicks off with appetizers and networking, followed by a brief business meeting and a timely legislative panel discussion featuring key voices from the Capitol. The evening concludes with a lively reception where members can continue conversations and build relationships.

High School Page Program

Each legislative session, MGRC members participate in the High School Page Program by meeting with student pages at the Capitol. Each week, 2–4 lobbyists volunteer to speak with the pages, offering insight into the legislative process and careers in government relations. This initiative, led by our Diversity & Inclusion Committee, is coordinated in partnership with the Sergeant-at-Arms office.

Lobbyist 101

Join the Minnesota Governmental Relations Council (MGRC) for Lobbyist 101, a free, virtual educational series held via Zoom. This popular program offers valuable insights into working with legislators and navigating the legislative process. The sessions feature expert speakers including legislative leaders, committee chairs, non-partisan staff, and administration officials. Registration is required, and the program is open to both new and experienced lobbyists. Don’t forget to share with interns and colleagues who may benefit! For questions or suggestions for the 2026 series, contact Joel Carlson.

Spring Fling

This annual MGRC event offers members a welcome break from the legislative session. The event features a panel discussion with key state leaders and provides an opportunity to connect and network with fellow government relations professionals in a relaxed, social setting.
