The 2017 legislature mandated a new system for creating fiscal notes and local fiscal impact statements through the creation of a new Legislative Budget O ffice. Planning for this substantial shift in budgeting is well underway, a nd is being led by the Legislative Coordinating Commission (LCC).
Our speaker this week is the staff director of the LCC, Greg Hubi nger. Mr. Hubinger will walk us through the planning process for the new bu dget office, how it will interact with other branches of government and wha t that may mean for us as we work on legislative issues that impact state a nd local finances.
