New for 2019...
The Legislative Budget Office

The 2017 legislature mandated a new system for creating fiscal notes and local fiscal impact statements through the creation of a new Legislative Budget Office. Planning for this substantial shift in budgeting is well underway, and is being led by the Legislative Coordinating Commission (LCC).

Our speaker this week is the staff director of the LCC, Greg Hubinger. Mr. Hubinger will walk us through the planning process for the new budget office, how it will interact with other branches of government and what that may mean for us as we work on legislative issues that impact state and local finances.

The Legislative Budget Office is one of the most significant fiscal policy changes since Governor Quie held office 1982....you’ll want to learn how this is going to be rolled out.
